Get Started

We also provide you with a free, easy-to-use publishing tool called Trellix, which you can use to create and update your own blog. Ready to get started? Follow these simple steps:
Select the weblog template for your personal web site.
Name your web site (you can call it "My Blog" to get started, and you can always change it later).
Select your web site design from the choices provided.
Use the buttons on screen to edit text and links or to post a new entry.
Don't forget to press Publish to Web each time you're done making changes or posting a new entry.

Here are some tips and tricks to help make your blog great:
Read other blogs. It's the only way to learn about the art of blogging. Keep it focused. The best blogs are those with an underlying theme, so pick a topic and stick to it. Update often. Post as often as you can to keep it fresh and to keep your readers interested. Express yourself. Write in the first person, and express your opinion. Be timely. Blogging occurs in real-time, so write about things that have just occurred. Be brief. Few people have the time to read long dissertations on the meaning of life. So post your thoughts in short and concise entries. A few paragraphs usually does it. Link. Provide links to your favorite web sites and other blogs you read. Linking is the heart of the blogging community. Make contact. Display your email address so readers can contact you.
Spread the Word
Now that you've started your blog, you'll want to build a readership. Invite people to read it by announcing your new blog. In Trellix, click the Promote Site button. You can use this feature to send friends an email that contains a link to your blog.
You can also list your blog in weblog directories like Blogarama and Blogwise. And be sure to submit your site to search engines like Google. Click here to add your URL to Google.
