Welcome to the Internet Movie Database, the biggest, best, most award-winning movie site on the planet.
Please Meet Mike Colter
You may not need to "meet" Mike Colter. If you saw Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby you already know him. He assayed the pivotal role of "Big Willie Little," the title contender who leaves Eastwood's Frankie Dunn to seek out a more aggressive manager. When casting directors, directors, and other industry types look up MDB to remember the name of the outstanding actor who played "Big Willie" they'll see Mike's headshot along with the credit. Our new self-submission system makes adding headshots or gallery photos easier and faster than ever. Go to your client's page, click on the "Primary Photo Not Submitted" image to start this simple process or head directly to the IMDb Publicity Photos purchase pipeline.

IMDb Movie of the Day
During its theatrical run, Last Life in the Universe didn't exactly capitalize on its success on the festival circuit, but the film found its audience on DVD. Thai director Pen-Ek Ratanaruang (6ixtynin9, Fun Bar Karaoke) literally quiets things down for his unique romantic drama, which drew out a nuanced performance from
Tadanobu Asano (Ichi the Killer) and introduced the world to the wonderful Sinitta Boonyasak. Asano stars as Kenji, a suicidal, obsessive-compulsive Japanese man working at a library in Bangkok. His daily routine, which consists of meticulous organization and imagined suicides, is upended by a visit from his brother. It's a reunion that does not end pleasantly, and sends Kenji on a trajectory that connects him to Noi (Boonyasak), a young woman living in her own private Gummo-like cottage on the outskirts of the city. In simple terms, Last Life in the Universe is a depiction of what can happen when two lonely people form an intimate bond, and how their relationship can weather any situation that follows. Moving beyond the story is where you'll find the film's nougaty center: Christopher Doyle's cinematography is narcotic; the sets and physical locations are fuel for Doyle's imagination; and one special effects sequence -- perhaps a mere minute in length -- lingers for the duration of the film. It's not a film for people who need definition and a sense of finality, but nearly anyone can relate to the mythic effects of loneliness explored here. - Arno Kazarian
