Join Together, founded in 1991, supports community-based efforts to reduce, prevent, and treat substance abuse across the nation. We are funded primarily by a grant from The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to the Boston University School of Public Health.
More recently, we are focusing attention on strengthening community capacity to expand the demand for and supply of high quality drug and alcohol treatment. In 2000, we launched Demand Treatment!, an initiative to drive up the demand for treatment in American communities. Through our web sites and services, our partnerships with twenty-nine cities, and our alliances with key co-sponsors, we are helping communities to develop and implement strategies that will achieve this goal.
