What a magnificent structure! This is a wonderful example of a wedge tomb. The stones forming the gallery walls are still in place as are most of the outer walling slabs, which now form the outline of the 10m long structure. The monument is built on the edge of a gentle south facing slope. The entrance faces south and is flanked by huge 2m tall façade stones. A roofstone still spans the entrance, but sadly the inside of the gallery is filled in with cairn rubble. When I first came around the side of the tomb I though I was going to be able to see inside. Some of the slabs formimg sides of the cairn are equally as massive as the façade stones. This would have been a monster in the ranks of wedge tombs. Unsurprisingly, someone has built a bungalow just 20m from it!
