| | Next Site | This rather sad heap of stones is nestled into the saddle of the ridge, just to the south of the highest point so as to appear on the false skyline from below.
I wasn't expecting to find this so it was a pleasant surprise. It is now just 50cm or so high and 6m in diameter. I initially spotted it because of the change in vegetation and a couple of rocks poking up. Rocks poking up is nothing to go by on these rock-strewn slopes, but the shape of the mound gave it away. The presence of so many other rocks on the hillside also indicate that this is not field clearance.
As far as I am aware this cairn is previously unrecorded. |
