What's this then?
Please feel free to leave a message here for others to see and read.
If you have any comments regarding the contents of this site (i.e. things
I've got wrong) then please
mail me rather than posting here. I am not
sure how quickly I will get to read these postings and would rather know quickly
if I have anything wrong.
Thanks.

Congrats, excellent site. I came across it when searching places for Genealogy lists.
The entire content is very interesting, and again, the photos are terrific.
Long may you continue.

Hello,
Stumbled on this site while preparing for my trip this year (we leave here the 26th, its the fourth year in a row to explore the North-West,First year was Galway, then Mayo, last year I stayed in Kindrum Fannad (North Donegal) and this year I come a bit backwards to Donegal/Sligo (I'm staying about 14km from Donegal Town.
After reading Ron Langenus book "Ierland Ingebeeld" translated that would be "Imaginary Ireland" (don't know if an english translation is made but its more than worth checking out folks), I visited "Newgrange" , Beltany stone circle, Drumskinny stone circle, Glencolumbkille and Boa-Island to name a few last year, From those I found Beltany and Boa Island far superior to the other two, In my opinion the extensive cleaning up and gravel on the ground around the stones, the visitor centres (I know tourism, work and so forth)destroy a great deal of the feel and vibes you get otherwise... I walked around Galdragh with nobody around only the weight of the ages in the light around me, while Newgrange felt more like... well donno just not as it should, drumskinny was even worse... This year I'm planning White Island, Creevykeel Court Cairns, Carrowmore and Knocknarea... I'll apriciate any suggestions as to other (unspoiled) locations you folk might recommend in the erea.
I'm sure this page is going to be more than usefull, Thanks for putting this online for us to explore, use and most of all enjoy... |
