Privacy Policy

Join Together is committed to protecting the privacy of any information you provide us while using this website and its services.

JTO Direct Registration
Join Together does not solicit personally identifiable information from users who wish to browse web pages on the site. Users who wish to subscribe to JTO Direct e-mail (a personalized content delivery service) must register for a free online account. Registration exists solely to protect the privacy and security of individualized settings required for these services, and includes the solicitation of certain information from you. The following items elaborate on this information and how we use it.

1. Your name and e-mail address will not be released, sold, loaned or otherwise distributed to any person or organization outside Join Together or the Boston University School of Public Health.

2. Your self-chosen password is stored in encrypted format on our servers and will under no circumstances be divulged except to the e-mail address associated with it in the subscription account.

3. We may from time to time send e-mail messages to registered subscribers concerning individual JTO Direct subscriptions, important service changes, or other Join Together Online content and services. At any time you may request to not receive any e-mail from us that does not directly concern your individual account.

4. You may inform us at any time if you would like to cancel your account and/or have your contact information deleted from our records.

5. Following registration, Join Together employs browser cookies to recognize a subscriber and his or her subscription account access privileges on Join Together Online. For more information about our use of cookies for subscribers, see that section of our registration help file.

Information Collected By Web Servers
Join Together Online web servers automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information, such as which pages each user visits and the domain name (e.g., aol.com) of visitors. This information is used to measure traffic and usage patterns. The servers also log IP addresses, or the location of your computer on the Internet, for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes, as well as for aggregate site usage statistics. We do not use IP address logs to track your session or your behavior on our site. We do not release this information to other organizations or individuals, nor do we link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.

Use of Cookies
Join Together Online employs anonymous browser "cookies" to track site usage from all visitors. As noted above, we also use cookies as part of the JTO Direct sign up and account maintenance processes. Join Together does not employ third party cookies from any outside organization. Users who do not accept cookies from the domain "jointogether.org" may access any content on Join Together Online, but they will not be able to sign up for JTO Direct or manage preferences for a JTO Direct subscription online.
