latest updates to Office XP. Office XP SP-2 contains significant security
enhancements and improvements in stability and performance. Some of the fixes
that are included with Office XP SP-2 were released earlier as separate
updates. This service pack combines the updates into one integrated package and
includes a number of other changes that are designed to improve the reliability
and performance of your Office XP programs. This article describes how to download and install the Office XP SP-2. Note You do not have to install Office XP SP-1 before you install the
Office XP SP-2 Administrative Update. Client UpdateIf you installed Office XP from a CD-ROM, you have two options:
Office Product Updates To have the Office Product Updates Web site detect the required updates that you must install on your computer, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspx (http://office.microsoft.com/ProductUpdates/default.aspx) After detection is complete, you receive a list of
recommended updates for your approval. Click Start Installation to complete the process.Install Only Service Pack 2 To download and install only the SP-2 client update, follow these steps:
Administrative UpdateIf you installed any of the products listed at the beginning of this article from a server location, the server administrator must update the server location with the administrative public update and deploy that update to your computer.If you are the server administrator, download the administrative update.
