For some, rejection after rejection may seem a daunting battle to
overcome. For Steven Gastreich, he realizes that the rejections were
part of God's plan that led him to the Sacred Heart School of Theology,
where he recently earned a master's degree in theology.
Steven was born prematurely and has been blind since birth. That did
not deter him, however, as he earned a bachelor's degree from
UW-Whitewater. He has been accepted into the clinical pastoral
experience program at Alexian Village, the first step to becoming a
chaplain. Steven expects that his life experiences will help him be a
better minister to those with whom he will work.
