Each parish maintains a set of registers in which are recorded the
celebrations of baptism, confirmation, marriage and funerals at that
parish. Ordinarily, these records are retained at the parish where the
sacrament was celebrated. When a parish has closed or merged, the
Archdiocesan Archives most often becomes the repository. (For information
