And it’s easy to find things on your calendar using iCal’s powerful search feature. Just type in what you’re looking for in the search field, and the matching results appear as they’re found. Go to any event simply by clicking on the event name in the search results list. Or use Spotlight to search for calendar events and To Dos by summary, location, organizer, attendees and more right from your Desktop.

Keep it Together (or Apart)

iCal helps you organize your schedule by letting you create as many separate calendars as you need. Create a calendar for home, a different one for school, a third for work and so on. Distinguishing between calendars is quick and easy. You give each its own color, and your color choices are unlimited. iCal gives you a single unified window showing all of your calendars at once, so you can easily spot scheduling conflicts. Or choose to see, say, only your home events and your children’s activities. Just select the calendars you want to view at any given moment.

Share and Share Alike

Keep your friends and family in the loop. With a .Mac account (or your own WebDAV server), iCal lets you publish your calendar on the Internet so others can see when you’re available. And if they’re iCal users themselves, they can subscribe to your calendars. iCal is perfect for maintaining school calendars, days off, breaks and sports events, not to mention class schedules, homework, activities and office hours. iCal is also great for enabling dozens of subscribers in youth groups, scout troops, sports clubs and fan clubs stay informed about scheduled group activities in their organizations.

RSVP You

Don’t go it alone: With iCal 2.0, you can invite friends and family to events. iCal lets you create and edit your own invitations, send them via your Address Book, update your guest list, keep track of attendee responses and receive updated status information. A centralized notification box keeps all your invitations and responses in one easy-to-access location so you can manage events right inside iCal instead of your busy email inbox. The handy iCal Dock icon alerts you of new attendee responses even when your calendar is hidden.
