The Main Page redesign team is proud to present their working draft. They've just begun an open editing session which will last until the 18th; your involvement is both welcome and crucial. There will be a pause to sort through the data, fix bugs, perform tests, et cetera before the final election commences on March 1st. It will put the new draft up against the current Main Page.

To do

Or...

Here are some tasks you can do:

Not sure where to report a certain type of problem with article content? If it exists, it's probably listed at Wikipedia:Maintenance.

Active collaborations

In order to improve the quality of articles which are short or lacking in detail, Wikipedia's community take part in collaborations to expand articles.

Collaboration of the week

Help edit Andes, Wikipedia's current collaborations of the week! Please help to bring them up to featured article standard.

The Andes are a vast mountain system forming a continuous chain of highland along the western coast of South America. It is roughly 7000 km (4400 mi) long, 500 km (300 mi) wide in some parts (widest between 18° to 20° S latitude), and of an average height of about 4000 m (13,000 ft).

You can still help with last week's articles, Male (see improvements) and Female (see improvements), or help pick next week's article.

Article Improvement Drive

Improve Sofia, the present incumbent at the Article Improvement Drive. The Article Improvement Drive works on a non-stub article that needs a lot of help before reaching featured-article standard.

Sofia (Bulgarian: София) is the capital and largest city of the Republic of Bulgaria, with a population of 1,208,930 (2003 census). It is located in the western part of Bulgaria, at the foot of the mountain massif Vitosha, and is the administrative, cultural and industrial centre of the country.

The history of Sofia dates to the 7th century BC, when a Thracian settlement was established on the site of the present-day city, thus making it the second oldest capital city in Europe. It has been given several names throughout the course of history, and the remnants of the old cities can still be seen today.

You can still help with last week's article, Architecture of Africa (see improvements), or help pick next week's article.
