David Freiberg

David Freiberg (born August 24, 1938) is an American musician, bass guitar player with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Jefferson Starship.

David Freiberg was born in Boston and founded Quicksilver Messenger Service with John Cippolina. David was in his late twenties by the time Quicksilver rose to prominence. He began as a coffee house folk musician and for a while shared a house in Venice, CA. with other future folk-rockers David Crosby and Paul Kantner. In 1972 David joined Jefferson Airplane. The band eventually evolved into Jefferson Starship. David is married to singer Linda Imperial.
