Information: Safeguarding All of God's Family Classroom Packet and Cover Letter

As part of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee Safeguarding All of God's Family program, schools and religious education programs are called on to provide age-appropriate abuse prevention education in all classrooms to teach children to recognize, resist and report abuse. It is expected that in each classroom, every year, there will be at least one presentation documented to assist children in acquiring and enhancing skills to prevent abuse.

The Archdiocese provided a packet of materials to principals and religious education directors in August of 2003 to support these efforts, and the resources from this packet are now also online:

+ The cover letter from the packet is attached; click on Download Doc below to download and view this letter.

+ A list of agencies in your area with expertise from whom you may request a classroom presentation is available at Agencies. It is advisable to schedule early in the school year if you wish to take advantage of this option.

+ Information on resources available through the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault (WCASA) is available at WCASA Resources.

+ Sexual Violence A listing of relevant sexual violence prevention concepts for children organized by age group is available at Prevention Concepts. Please be aware that there is not a prescribed curriculum and there are many options for how to meet these requirements.
