Trial Software CD

The following trial versions of Windows Server 2003 R2 are available on CD:

Each trial CD kit includes a unique product key, which is required for installation. The trial CD kit is available only in English when you order it from this Web site. Please visit the Windows Server 2003 R2 Trial Software Worldwide Programs page for information about localized versions.

Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for shipping CD orders.

There is no fee for the Windows Server 2003 R2 trial CDs; however, all orders are subject to shipping and handling charges. International orders may also be subject to import duties and taxes. If ordering from this site to a location outside of the United States, you are considered the importer of record and must comply with all laws and regulations of the country/region in which you are receiving the shipment.

Trial Software DVD

The following trial version of Windows Server 2003 is available on DVD:

You must have a DVD drive to be able to install this version of the product in your environment. Please note that there is no R2 version of Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based Systems; the R2 release only applies to workloads that are not applicable to the target environments for Windows on Itanium-based systems.

Trial Software Download

Windows Server 2003 trial software downloads are available at no charge. If you choose to register to download the software, note that you will not receive the product CDs. The following products, available only in English, are available for download:

After you have completed the download registration process, you will receive an e-mail message with a link to the download page. On the download page, you will see the version of the software that you requested to download along with a link to the downloadable files and a product key for that software. The files will be in ISO format and must be burned to CDs or DVD before you can install the software on your computer.

The download files are large—between 550 and 700 megabytes for the first CD, depending on the version you choose, and between 122 and 167 megabytes for the second CD—so the download may take considerable time to complete. Microsoft recommends that you have broadband, ADSL, or some other high-speed Internet connection to attempt this download.

Product Activation

If you choose to order trial software on CD, a product key is included with the CD. If you register to download the trial software, you will be provided with a product key when you receive the link for the download. Product activation can be completed online or by telephone within 14 days of installation and is required for continued use of the software. Detailed instructions and Microsoft's privacy statement are displayed during the installation of the product.
