  14. Actually, it isnt that cool. Seemed kind of pointless to me? When i chat with ppl i prefer a lightweight client and small window i can move around or hide. Having to have it all pushed in with the browser is sort of lame imho.

Also, this story is pretty old.

  15. I have to admit that I didn't go much past the description on the link, but it seems to me that I can open all of these websites + apps + more and my computer becomes (thundering voice) "A COMMUNICATIONS.... MEGA-PACKAGE!". Why in the world do I need a flash app to smash it all together. I can't be bothered actually investigating to find out. Someone tell me, if the even is a reason.

  17. Gtalkr is quite old actually but not very publicised, and yes, it's web 2.0 So everybody slam the server becasue it uses More Ajax than Mc Donalds [ http://www.bobthejanitor.com/cpc04969.html ] .

  22. What I like about this service is that it brings together the best features of many companies. In Windows Messenger I can view MSN Spaces, but I can't view contacts Flickr photos. In Google Talk I can send GMail's, but I cannot view a users YouTube videos. I think it is valuable having a third party bring everything together - and there is a potential for more.
    - How about clicking on a Google contact and seeing their digg user name, the podcasts they subscribe to, etc.

Haven't you heard? Flash is Web 2.5!

Seriously, flash-haters used to hate javascript too. People started to use javascript sanely, and everything worked out fine. Same deal here.

  33. Truly a revolutionary concept combining chat, e-mail, digg, flickr, youtube, rss feeds and you name it into one easy to use and maintain flash app. I hear a lot of people complaining about flash, but try it for yourself and you'll see it's very light-weight, lag-free client, not a CPU hog like lots of other 3rd party (non web-based apps). If you're really concerned about privacy, go ahead and sign up another Gmail account... after all it's free!

  37. seems to me like a combination of lots of great things that don't really go together. I don't really do emails or chat while I'm watching videos or flickr. I may do them all but I have little reason to do them all at the same time on the same page.
