why though? why do we need the re-release of the stuff that came out with year? yeah its smaller, but the DS was small anyway.

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that the camera and lighting in these photos were crappy. It should be bright white and shiny, so combine the last 2 photos and you'll get the right kind of idea.

The DS is a _little_ bulky. This one may actually fit in your pocket. The differences are minor enough to not upset current DS owners, but should be enough to bring in some fresh meat.

Damn, that looks really sweet! So Mac-esque...I like! That kinda white is always hard to capture accurately anyways, so I think I will look even better in my hands! It also looks a lot more comfortable.

Wow, my wife will run out and get this. She doesn't like carrying around the original DS in her purse. It's too big but she has to take care of her Nintendogs.

That thing looks ugly in detail. It's all smoker yellow and the body does not look very well fit. The plastic looks cheap.

if I didn't just buy a DS I would buy one of these. The buttons look super sleek and the start, select, and power buttons are in much better places. The fact that you can adjust the screen brightness just sweetens the deal. I don't know if this is true or just a rumor but I heard that the DS Lite will be able to to play Game boy Color games.

I tried pretty hard to see the "smoker yellow" that generalleoff talked about, but I just couldn't do it.

I think it looks like it'll be similar to all the white Mac stuff or something.

I'm thinking it better be a prototype but with the final design of the original DS coming out like it did I can't be sure.

Though admit it or not the original DS was rushed to market anyway for fear of SONY. Those fears have proved null so this is pretty much what the DS would have been had they taken the time. Nintendo will proly clean up most of the problems with those images.

I doubt that's true but if it is I'll buy one. I find Nintendo's handheld's fall onto a downward curve on game quality with the GB/GBC having the best games, The GBA having plenty of good games but not as many, and the DS also having nice games but fewer still then the GBA. An all in one machine will make the DS worth it for me but I'm not buying one just for the few DS games I like and the incomplete GBA support. Rather carry around a SP.

Nintendo the only company that can release 4 versions of its Gameboy advance and have people buy all 4. Now they are on version number 2 of the DS and people will probably buy this when they all ready have a DS. I think its goes to show how stupid people can be sometimes. If you have a DS you don't need this one. We all know next year there will be another ds.

Uh....how are these exclusive photos? They are slightly newer photos, but nothing we haven't already seen before.

Actually, I just checked, the photos we've seen so far are just computer graphic images, not live images. Still, this doesn't give anything I don't already know. No digg.

i dont see the big deal with it, my current ds is just fine. i dont think it is too big, i think that this smaller version would be less comfortable to play for me.

Actually, I will be buying one because of the brightness setting. If playing at the lowest resolution the batterly will last up to 19 hours, I am in.

I don't see a place to put the stylus. If anything needed a redesign that was it. They need to include one that fits in the hand of someone over the age of 8.

Obviously the color of the plastic is only for the beta unit that was used for the feds documentation. The retail units will be white white and whatever the other colors are.

This is lame. Why take pictures of the ugly prototype? It's not like it's anything super special. It's just an upgrade of the same old thing. Whoopty doo. And people, this is NOT what the casing of the DS Lite is going to look like when it goes to market. No sane company would ever ship a grody, unpolished product like that. Try and think for once. It can be fun!

i didn't get a ds when they first came out, but i'll definitely buy one one of these. to me the original ds didn't even look like it was finished hardware, it was so big and clunky.

I wish the world would just get over their white plastic fixation already. My Xbox 360 is a freaking eye sore in my entertainment system since everything else is silver, chrome and black and then this white brick. (And no, I'm not paying 20 dollars for another piece of different colored plastic)

I think they could have done much better design wise if they wanted to, it looks average at best. Maybe the new features make it worth it though.

Because this thing's screens are going to make our current DS's look like Game Gears. Since I just got an M3 movie player/flash cart for it, that's kinda important to me (er, assuming the M3 still works on the new sexy DS, anyway.)
