A carbon substance found in cracks in a Martian meteorite suggests life once existed on the Red Planet. The team includes scientists who found evidence for microbial life in another Martian meteorite, ALH84001, in 1998. "There's no way a solid piece of carbon got inside a meteorite" on Earth, meaning contamination from Earth is VERY unlikely.
