To reach Newtown Hill the best plan is to park at Johnny Fox's pub in Glencullen and walk east towards Kiltiernan until you rach the new church. I crossed to the rear of the churchyard, scrambled over the wall and walked up the hill through the fields.
If you reach the barrow you've actually passed this feature. It is 20m down the fields in a direct line to the church below.
Do you have a grid reference for a site and need to know which map it is on? Well, finding out is easy!
Just try the megalithomania Grid Reference Locator
Or do you want to convert Irish grid references to longitude and latitude? Or even vice-versa?
Just try the megalithomania Coordinate convertors
This is the first fulacht fai that I have seen and I am slightly sceptical about it. It certainly bears all the form of one with thin slabs arranged in a rectangular shape in a shallow hollow.
Like much of the stuff on Newtown Hill this is not marked on the OS.
