I couldn't see these stones in the duck last time I passed by and i nearly didn't see them today in the long reeds. The photo in the Cork Archaeological Inventory (Vol III) shows these standing in a grass field. Now they are almost hidden in 1m tall reeds. The field is practically a bog. How heavily has it been farmed to get that bad so quickly?
This pair stand 1.2m apart and are around 1.2m tall. They both have a rectangular cross-section. They are easy to find if you know that they are just 15m from the gate.
8.8km (E) is a stone row (alignment) at Carrigagulla. 5.6km (S) is a stone pair at Clashmaguire. 1.2km (E) is a stone circle at Knocknakilla. 4.5km (S) is a stone circle at Cabragh. 6.1km (SSE) is a wedge tomb at Scrahanard.
