Sony 7mp Cyber-shot to battle blur

Sony has updated its skinny Cyber-shot T family with a 7.2 megapixel model that also incorporates the company's anti-shake system, Super Steady Shot. The slimline camera also features a high sensitivity ISO 1000 setting to improve its picture-taking ability in low light conditions.

The 19mm-thick, 132g DSC-T30 sports that usual Cyber-shot component, the Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens with 3x optical zoom. Round the back is a 3in LCD viewfinder. Pictures can be stored on the camera's built-in 58MB memory or saved on a MemoryStick Duo card.

Sony says the DSC-T30's rechargeable battery is good for 420 shots. The camera provides the usual automatic settings, and now pictures can be adjusted using one of a series of "colour modes" - for example, vivid or muted - to adjust the tone of the images.

Launching the camera in the US, Sony said the DSC-T30 will retail for around $500 when it goes on sale in May. Can't wait to get your order in? Sony is taking pre-orders on its US website now. The camera will also go on sale in Europe in the same month. ®
