When you plug out your removable disk, your computer will automatically lock up you're your safety. grsecurity Added 2003-06-24 grsecurity is a complete security system for Linux 2.4 that implements a detection/prevention/containment strategy. It prevents most forms of address space modification, confines programs with least privilege via its process-based MAC system, hardens syscalls, and provides many of the OpenBSD randomness features. It was written for performance, ease-of-use, and security. The MAC system has an intelligent learning-mode, and all of grsecurity supports a feature that logs the IP of the attacker that causes an alert or audit. xautolock Added 2002-01-23 Xautolock monitors console activity under the X window system, and fires up a program of your choice if nothing happens during a user configurable period of time. You can use this to automatically start up a screen locker in case you tend to forget to do so manually before having a coffee break. Boot Sentry Added 2001-10-22 Boot Sentry is a security program that locks your computer so that no one can use it without knowing the password. It does this through two forms of protection: DOS Protection - Protects your computer at bootup, before windows start. Computer is locked out, and won't proceed with booting until the correct password is entered. If a wrong password is entered, a warning beep sounds ad nauseum. Windows Protection - Locks your computer after windows starts. You can also lock your computer at any time just by clicking the 'lock windows' icon in the Boot Sentry 3.0 Program group.
