At about 4pm a peaceful French protected turned into something nasty... Since then there have been multiple skirmishes between police and the rioters with Protesters court up in the middle.

At least two petrol bombs have been used, multiple paint bombs and some tear gas. Plus uncounted numbers of missiles, including stones, bottles and sticks.

Eh.....I just hope that France doesn't ask the US for help with these problems....France should deal with their own problems.

Problem is, the US has problems of its own with the recent mass immigration protests.  What's to stop them from turning into riots? In some places they are waving Mexican flags.

I wonder if this latest wave of French violence will lead to Beernutz taking another vacation there to show his support of the rioters.

Uhm why? and why is this a relevant point?

Anyway, the US just had another march a few days ago, with similar numbers involved (albiet, sans the violence). (Can't find a link though, sorry)

"March 28 (Bloomberg) -- French students and labor unionists marched through Paris today, leading a fourth nationwide day of protests against a new youth labor law. Police fired tear-gas as violence broke out when some protesters refused to disperse." Bloomberg

How do French Youths protesting about Labor Laws have anything to do with the US. The US may get involved if France goes into cival war though somehow I doubt it.

Los Angeles protests

News wrote:
"Today we march, tomorrow we vote," was the warning chanted by many of the 500,000 protesters who brought the second largest US city of Los Angeles to a standstill Saturday when they marched against the proposed crackdown on illegal immigration.

Fears over what they see as a racist assault on their community, the US Hispanic community -- spurred in confidence by the sheer numbers of their growing ranks across the United States -- has hit the streets with a peaceful force rarely seen since the civil rights movement of the 1960s, experts said.

What's with all the anti-french sentiment nowadays.  Good job they didn't say the same to the US when they  helped out in the War of Independence.  They object to an illegal war and all of a sudden they are everyone's worst enemy. Sheesh.

I'm sad to say that Beernutz is still reading these forums as I just found this email from him in one of my spam logs:

Beernutz wrote:

hi, I just wanted to let you know, as soon as I heard of the riots, I
looked up the plane fares.
Because it's spring, they are still too expensive, and I don't think the
airlines are applying the riot discount on france this time.

There needs to be riots and it has to be off season for europe to get
the $300 USD round trip to paris per person.

I was thinking maybe you mentioned it because you wanted to go at
reduced rates and have to buy 2 seats because of your condition.

So there's the low down on that. I'll probably wait until next fall.

Even after being banned he can't help but show his moral (and physical) superiority by mocking my size.

Odd though... when posted pictures of his tickets to France in the fall... he had two tickets... we assumed that it was for his girlfriend...

Given that we know that Beernutz has some major emotional and mental issues... I wonder if he too is on the larger size and had to himself purchase two tickets... it’d make sense really, feeling so miserable and worthless and lashing out at those like him who make easy targets in his mind.

Poor Beernutz, poor poor Beernutz. So miserable with his own problems that he can do nothing but lash out at others. Please Beernutz, for your own sake... get help!

I think these riots are an excuse not to go to work or spend time in school.
