Tours
The Jewish Museum Berlin
offers tours of the museum for visitors of all ages in various
languages, including sign language for the hearing impaired. You can
take part on one of our regular public tours or book a special group
tour. Well-informed tour guides engage the visitors in a wide variety
of topics and offer them the possibility of dialogue and discussion.
Accessing the Museum Building
Nearly the whole exhibition area is accessible for
wheelchair users. There is just one small area in the permanent
exhibition which can only be accessed via stairs. Two stairs lead down
to the Museum courtyard.
From 18 April to 29 April 2006 the elevator in the old building will
not be accessible. Please ask our service staff who will guide you to
an alternative elevator to reach the exhibition.
There is a parking space for visitors in possession of a disabled badge directly in front of the Museum entrance.
A 9 % slope leads up to the main entrance. The Axes in the Libeskind
Building have slopes between 2.65 % (to the stairs) and 3.9 % (to the
Holocaust Tower). The incline on the sides is 1.5 % maximum.
The Jewish Museum Berlin offers guided tours in sign language. fuehrungen@jmberlin.de
The Jewish Museum has two disabled bathrooms: one is situated at
the back of the entrance area, the other in the basement of the
Libeskind Building.
