The cabinet exhibition "Faster, Higher, Stronger..." gives insights into the Jewish Sports Movement from 1898 to 1938. At the opening attended by many museum donors, Hazel Shore remembered her mother, the athlete Martha Jacob, who belonged to the German olympic team and emigrated to South Africa in 1936. The fourth Cultural Summer in the Museum Garden focuses this year – alongside old-time favorites such as readings by famous actresses and Jazz in the Garden – on Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, and football. The open-air installation "Well-Deserved Yet Still Forgotten. Jews in German Football" will be presented at the opening.

The exhibition "PSYCHOanalysis. Sigmund Freud’s 150th Birthday" is opened. The exhibition is dedicated to the great founder of psychoanalysis and shows to what extent Sigmund Freud’s thinking has permeated and influenced our lives. "PSYCHOanalysis" was planned in cooperation with Hürlimann + Lepp Exhibitions (until 27 August).

The multimedia children’s story “Sansanvis Park” at the Rafael Roth Learning Center is awarded the “digita” German educational software prize in the category “private learning for under 10s.” The “digita” prize is awarded annually by the Stiftung Lesen, the magazine “bild der wissenschaft,” and the Institut für Bildung in der Informationsgesellschaft (IBI) at the Technical University Berlin.

A new room will open in the section of the historical permanent exhibition on the present: "It Was As Simple As That" illustrates Jewish childhood and youth in German-speaking Europe since 1945.
