Channel 9 lets me talk to them....

I didn't even notice this, but Kintan mailed me overnight to say that he liked my video on Channel 9.  I was over in Redmond earlier this year, and talked to Charles and Jennifer about all sorts of things including ladies and girl geeks (and

What is RPC/HTTP?

We talk about using RPC over HTTP and HTTPS a lot.  I've blogged about troubleshooting RPC/HTTP, I talk about how fantastic it is to be able to access my email without the need to VPN, but I was stopped in my tracks today when someone actually

Beyond the browser at MIX 06

I thought I'd spend some time this evening and watch the Keynote for MIX 06 in Las Vegas. (You can visit MIX virtually too)  Bill Gates was talking about how the way we interact with the web.  You know, when I started

Blogcast: Folding a t-shirt

I knew how to do this already.  Lorna who runs the MVP program here in the UK showed me how to do this last year and I was very, very impressed.  So when my friend emailed this video showing how easy it is to fold a T-shirt I just

Today is the second day of our IT Forum highlights event.  We've been focusing on things that will be coming up later on in the year (E12, Monad, Mobility and Vista today).  At the last roadshow last week we talked a lot about released technology.

Evangelism on a global scale

I'm often asked if I only evangelise in the UK or do I "do" other countries too.  Well, when I present at TechEd or ITForum, then I suppose I'm evangelising throughout Europe, When I write for the Technet Flash, or for another publication, I

Triscadecaphobia - and a film crew...

Yup, I have triscadecaphobia.  I hate days like these.  I'm glad I don't have to get on a plane today... I'd rather hang around an airport and fly tomorrow instead, so I thought that I'd keep a bit of a low profile today and not do anything

Technical Training – Face to face or on line?

I’m in Seattle for a couple of weeks to attend some technical training events.  Next week, I’m on a course to learn all of the ins and outs of the next release of Exchange 12 so that I can redeliver the sessions in the UK in a few months time.

Customising your Desktop Search deployment..

I use this all the time - and use the most basic of features to find what I'm looking for - but now I've found the Desktop Search Administrators guide on Technet.  Fantastic!  This now allows you to customise how you deploy Desktop search

New certification structure

Oooh! now this has caught my eye!  In my dim and distant (and vaguely murky!) past, I used to be a Technical trainer.  I used to train lots of Microsoft products ( I mean most of the Back office products, networking stuff and Internet type courses.

Geek Dinner in London - for Girls

Sarah is organising a Geek dinner - for girls in London next Tuesday evening.  You don't have to be a geek to attend though  (actually you don't even need to be a girl either) - it's just a great opportunity to network with other women in Technology
