I find it interesting how many people came down on MS for filtering, etc. the blog postings for Chinese and what not regarding democracy and all things freedom... but then I don't hear a peep about Google doing the same...

I'm pretty sure China views all American companies as pigs at the trough. So long as they're willing to bend over backwards for a chance at China's billion person market, the Chinese government will gladly take any and all investment capital offered, all while giving a false sense of hope while they give preferential treatment to local business. If the government has its way, Microsoft and Google will have poured billions of dollars into the Chinese market before they realize China has basically been fleecing them for capital for ventures such as Linux and Baidu.com, respectively.
