Gebruik de SMS 2003 Inventory Tool voor Microsoft Updates (ITMU) & WSUS
Iedereen die gebruik maakt van SMS 2003 SP1 zou ook de SMS 2003 Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates uit moeten rollen!
Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 SP1 maakt gebruik van de Inventory Tool voor Microsoft Updates (ITMU) om vast te stellen welke systemen compliant zijn met de laatste patches. Deze tool zorgt voor integratie tussen SMS en updates aangeboden door Windows Update en Microsoft Update. De tool gebruikt dezelfde security update, update rollup, en service pack data als aangeboden door de Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
SMS 2003 SP1 is updated met de ITMU om WSUS technologie voor scanning en deployment te gebruiken met support voor de volgende produkten:
- Microsoft Windows XP Embedded
- Microsoft Windows 64-bit edition (based on Windows Server 2003 SP1 code)
- Microsoft Office XP and Office 2003
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 and later
- All Windows components (such as MSXML, MDAC, and Microsoft Virtual Machine)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000 SP4 and SQL Server 2005
- Additional products as published to the Windows Updates catalog
