Honors Program & Study Abroad Opportunities
- The University Honors Program, with nearly 900 students, has attracted record numbers of first year students in each of the last three years
- About 275 BGSU students studied abroad last year, and the number is growing; scholarship support available
Pre-Major Advising
- Each year 500 new students enroll without declaring a major and enroll in Pre-Major Advising for assistance in selecting courses
- Most students who enroll in Pre-Major Advising move to one of the colleges within three semesters
- Each student has the ability to communicate with advisors through listserves and by contacting the advisor directly
Financial Aid & Work Study
- In 1999-2000, BGSU co-op students earned $4.2 million-an average of $10.31 per hour
- 4,500 students earn $7 million annually through on-campus employment
- 85% of student jobs are not based on financial need
- 60% of BGSU students receive financial aid
- Academic scholarships were offered to more than 900 admitted first year students for Fall 2000
