ChipCenter tech editor Murray Disman discusses a bevy of innovative ASIC developments. Most exciting is his review of Agilent Technologies' software for RF IC design. "The new ADS2001 suite interworks with Cadence's design flow," notes Disman, "using the same schematics and working with design kits from dozens of major foundries."

In the world of programmable logic, Disman goes on to analyze the impact of new EDA tools from Xilinx that proactively solve timing bottlenecks. "You have to be impressed with these improvements in FPGA design tools," says Disman.
