Lucas Stensland's formal film education began at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, where he graduated with a B.S. in journalism and a minor in film studies.
In San Francisco and Los Angeles Lucas worked sporadically as a freelance film critic, reporter and comic book rewriter. In 2003 he wrote a film review for Judas! Magazine on the premiere of Masked & Anonymous at the Sundance Film Festival.
He currently lives in Brooklyn with a housecat.
His favorite films include Asphalt Jungle, Bronco Billy, Dawn of the Dead (1978), Heaven’s Gate, His Girl Friday, L'aventura, Love Streams, McCabe & Mrs. Miller, The Principal, Texasville and Grand Illusion.
