Learning something new....

......

I was debating on whether to post something about my Uncle.  I mean this is a techy geeky site and even though I tend to be a bit personal on this bit of technology called a blog, it felt a little "too personal" if you know what I mean.  But his son in law who gave the ending speech at the service reminded me of one thing that my Uncle did.

At the age of 50, he earned his pilot's license.

At the age in life that most people want to start slowing down and stop striving, stop learning, stop doing.  He didn't.  He started something new.  He learned something new.  And it didn't stop there.  From computers, to CB/Ham radio to flying a plane, he kept learning and helping and teaching others.

So to a man who taught me that patience and a kind word can take you far, thank you for what you taught me through the years through your actions.

To not stop trying something new.... learning something new.....giving something different a chance....

....thank you Uncle Bill, for that lesson I'll never forget.
