Vice presidents S. “Soma” Somasegar, Ted Kummert, and Andy Lees taped an interview with Channel 9 talking about what it’s like to be in the home stretch of such an important delivery for Microsoft as VS 2005, SQL Server 2005 and Biztalk 2006 prepare to RTM.  Find out what is top of mind for them as they count down the final days (hours and seconds) to launch.

You do realise something is horribly broken with this (+other?) videos on the main page? I click them and IE just sits there displaying Loading... but dosnt do anything. The only way I could view this video was to go to Media->Videos.

Woa......is everything at microsoft crazy....or super....

Like crazy new Office UI

Super excited about the X-box.

I wonder if Microsoft employees are super crazy excited about everything?

I sincerely hope that they are indeed super crazy excited about their stuff!  If they wouldn't, what's the point of spending so much time and resources on it?

Soma seems like a great VP.  Since I use SQL Server 2000 and VS.NET 2003, I watched with interest on both of those.  The VS.NET 2005 looks quite interesting, but from as a developer in enterprise, there are some significant changes between the two IDE versions and the shortfalls in .NET 1.1 have been larger supplemented by our libraries.  So, it seems to be a longer process for us, I'd think.

However, SQL Server 2005 will definitely look quite interesting and I've really grown to appreciate SQL Server 2000 in terms of ease and use and power...despite the fact it's around 5 years old!

Great efforts from his team. And good luck
