Darkclown Coronado
Darkclown (don't ask) submitted his nice-looking screenshot, displaying the
vista-Inspirate icons by saki and the gears desktop by ChristianNickel. His
desktop is a KDE environment with Plastik window decorations and keramik style.
You'll also notice karamba plugins like liquid weather and cynapses aero.
Scott S Short
Scott's box uses the 2.6.14-gentoo-r2 kernel with Gnome 2.12, showing off the
Milk 2.0 theme. All icons originated from the Gentoo web site.
Richard Head
Richard is one of our many Gentoo users who is impressed with Gentoo's
flexibility. He describes his screenshot as "pretty cool", showing mp3 player,
system status information, transparent terminals and menu and a root tail of a
port scan.
Wolfram Schlich
Wolfram is one of the Gentoo developers accountable for anti-virus stuff in
Portage. His screenshot shows a gnome-2.8 configured system running firefox
1.0.2 with qute3 theme, xmms (with xawmms skin) and two terminals showing off
centericq and htop.
Michael Olson
Michael's screenshot displays Enlightenment 0.17 (prerelease 10) with some of
E17's modules, such as the clock, application launcher and pager. Alongside he
runs gkrellm, mozilla, evidence, xemacs-gtk, erss (for the news feeds), gaim and
xmms.
Buda Travers
Buda is one of our many, many, happy Gentoo users. He's quite new to the
GNU/Linux scene but managed to read the GPL completely :) His system runs Gnome.
On the screenshot you can see Gaim, XMMS with the Gentoo_Ice skin and a
compilation process for OpenOffice 1.1.3.
William Godois
William has been using Gentoo for 9 months after 2 years of using Mandrake. His
main window manager has always been enlightenment, which you can see
demonstrated on this screenshot. You'll also find a wallpaper from Cognitive
Distortion and icon's downloaded from the Gentoo website.
Alex Santiago
Alex' is a fresh Gentoo user, with his first experiences dating from October
2004 when he discovered Gentoo on the DVD that accompanied his Linux Format
magazine. On his screenshot you'll find KDE 3.3.1 and Eterm 0.9.2 tailing his
servers' message log. You'll also find gdesklets and calender, Kopete and
gkrellm on the sides of his desktop.
Eric Holmes
Eric's desktop runs XFCE4 as window manager and ROX2 for file managing
and desktop icons. On the right you see anjuta editing the sourcecode of fbgrab.
Also note that the XFCE4 panel has an applet that monitors the wireless
connection to Eric's home network.
