Take an MCP exam for Free

James noticed that you can take an MCP exam for Live Communications Server for free.  You need to use a promotional code (on his blog)  when you book the exam.  And if you pass the beta - you'll be one of the first MCP's on LCS too... so come on Arthur and Russ.  You know you want to....

And if you're the sort of person that loves doing beta exams - sign up for the invites here...

# Mr

I took a ßeta exam exactly once, it was the Windows NT 4.0 workstation exam (I think I just dated myself) and it's not an experience I'd like to repeat.  8 bajillion questions and not finding out if you passed for several weeks bites.

Hmmm yes - Beta exams... I remember sitting in the exam room all week taking all of the betas for Windows 2000.  As with all Betas, the exams are there to test the quality of the questions, highlight any inaccuracies or formatting issues, and to set the standard for the released exam.  That's why it takes 6 to 8 weeeks before the results are known, as the pass mark needs to be set, based on everyones answers to the betas, the "impossible" questions are modified, and allowances made to the scores.
Without beta testing, the end product wouldn't be as good.  That applies to many more things than just MCP Exams... drug testing, concept cars, and software...
