Yes. Because criminal damage should be celebrated.

I found out a great way to beat the speed cameras... It is cheap and fairly simple too... STAY BELOW THE DAMN SPEED LIMIT. It is sad that there are SO many people speeding and then blaming "the government" for it isn't at all funny -- Why don't they take responsibility for their actions? And if they kill someone while speeding who will they blame then? The victims? Other drivers? The light in their eyes? ...

I assume that these cameras are paid for by the tax payers in the country; therefore it isn't so good for them either. (I agree with Tensor, criminal damage is wrong whether it is done to a think that is though of as good or bad)

Or, you could go above 170 mph

Hahaha i h8 speed cameras, but he forward facing ones are the most stupid ones as they cant catch mototrbikes because bikes dont have front plates lol xD.

Not many every day cars will do 170 mph lol unless your mega rich and can afford a ferrari or something along them lines. So my tip is get a 1000cc superbike with about 180 bhp and your laughing .

No wonder driving so f**king expensive in this country!  Average gatso cost ~£45K to install, so I guess that each repair probably runs around the £10K mark buy the time you factor in all the police time and paperwork on top of the repair!

Some people are simply disturbed by all the cameras pointed at the general public and are making a point, it's not only about speeding.

Opposing blanket, unwarranted government surveillance seems like it's always a good idea.

They are speed cameras so I'm pretty sure it is just about speeding...

I can only imagine what is going to happen to these cameras once they go online...

Texas to Install Border Cameras

The governor of Texas wants to turn all the world into a virtual posse. Rick Perry has announced a $5 million plan to install hundreds of night-vision cameras on private land along the Mexican border and put the live video on the Internet, so that anyone with a computer who spots illegal immigrants trying to slip across can report it on a toll-free hot line.

No, i'm afraid thats just wrong.

This country has a massive amount of cctv cameras. perhaps the most per capita in the world. Those are nto the target here - speed enforcement cameras are.

There seems to be this attitude, amongst many drivers in the UK, that speeding is not only OK, but that in fact, it is the drivers RIGHT to speed - and that means to catch them out are unfair, and a "tax" on motorists. This just doesnt stand up, yet it is widely held, and there aer tv shows like top gear (int he video link above) which even promote this view. they seem to say, "Oh the poor driver, ever put upon, is being penalised for breaking the law - oh woe, all these poor middle class types who are of course all good drivers and couldnt hurt a fly because they wouldnt have an accident are forced to obey the speed limit by these nasty yellow boxes. Why cant they catch proper criminals instead". Of course conveniantely ignoring facts such as that road traffic accidents account for many times more deaths in the UK than, say, murder.

Now, as it happens, I think speed limits on the UK roads should be reformed. The limit on motorways should be raised, as they are very safe roads with few accidents. These days a limit of 80-85 would make little difference to the safety of the motorways.  Conversely the limit on roads in residential areas should be lowered, to 20 mph. This is where nearly all the road traffic accidents happen in the UK.

I also think the problem is awareness. We are happy to jump up and down and insist millions is spent to save the odd death via accident on the trains, because every train death is massively reported (I have first hand-experience of this). In the mean time most roade deaths make the local papers and thats it. I would propose a forced section in national tv news broadcasts, where 30 seconds has to be given to each road death that day. I think this would soon change public opinions.
