Q: How do I request permission to use a Moscow Times article or photograph?
A: The easiest way is to submit your request with our online request form. Click here for the request form.

Q: Can you sell me a paper copy of a past issue of The Moscow Times?
A: Unfortunately, no. We cannot re-print old issues on demand. However, you might want to subscribe to our PDF Edition, which enables you to print out an exact copy of the newspaper.

Q: What type of payment does The Moscow Times accept?
A: Payments may be made by bank transfer, or credit card. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club.

Q: How do I find a specific article that I am looking for?
A: Try using our search engine. If you can't find what you are looking for, give as much detail as possible in our online request form, and we will try to locate the article for you.

Q. What if I don't know the date or details of a photo?
A: Unfortunately we do not presently have an online search facility for our large archive of photographs. Please provide as much information as possible in the online request form and we will do our best to find the photo requested.

Q: Is it possible to publish a Moscow Times article on my web site, intranet or other computer network?
A: Yes, it is possible to use Moscow Times articles in electronic formats, although you are still required to obtain permission. [Go to request form]

Q: May I link to Moscow Times articles?
A: It is not necessary to obtain any permission to link to any of our content. You may even include up to two paragraphs of the article's text as a "teaser." Please mention the name of the author and of the publication (The Moscow Times).

Q: May I use headlines and summaries of Moscow Times articles?
A: You are permitted to create your own summaries and to use Moscow Times headlines with links back to the articles located on TheMoscowTimes.com.

Q: I am an educator and want to use Moscow Times content for material related to teaching. Do I need to obtain permission?
A: It is necessary to obtain permission for all uses of Moscow Times material. In most cases, permission to use Moscow Times for educational use will be granted free of charge. [Go to request form]

Q: If I am granted permission to publish Moscow Times material in print form, does this mean I can publish it online as well?

Q: May I use portions of Moscow Times articles, such as quotes or excerpts?
A: It is permissible to make direct quotes from Moscow Times articles. The context, number, and length of the quotes will determine whether permission is or is not required. It is never acceptable to selectively quote from articles in a manner that changes their meaning, to take quotes out of context or to combine quotes to create a sentence. It may also be considered infringement if a large percentage of the publication is comprised of quotes from Moscow Times articles. It is always best to submit your request for clearance.
