Richard Tren
From SourceWatch
Richard Tren is Director of Africa Fighting Malaria, an analyst for the Free Market Foundation, and a Research Fellow of the Environment Unit at the Institute of Economic Affairs.
As well as pushing for the use of DDT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDT) in combating malaria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malaria) (q.v. Malaria and DDT), he has recently focused the benefits of private ownership of water in South Africa, on deregulation of agriculture, and our need to embrace global warming rather than try to prevent it from happening. He has also opposed a ban by the South African government on disposable plastic shopping bags.
He writes frequently for Tech Central Station.
The biographical note appended to one of Tren's pro-DDT columns, originally published by the United Press International, states that "Mr Tren has a close association with G&G and G&G plays a role in Africa Fighting Malaria." [1] (http://www.stratek.co.za/.%5Carchive%5Crichardtren2.html)
