The very respected
BusinessWeek Magazine just unleashed a raft of new Web technology articles in a Special Report section in their current issue, many of which cover Web 2.0 explicitly.
The section, titled
Best of the New Web, liberally cites
Web 2.0 and tries to explain it in layperson's terms, "
it's about socializing, creating, -- and sharing."
Key articles include
It's a Whole New Web, with some good quotes from Tim O'Reilly... "
Applications are no longer software artifacts, they're ongoing services," and
Tagging: Keeping Tabs On the Internet, and especially
Ajax: How To Weave A Faster Web.
While Web 2.0 is far from a household world, much less a well-known concept, it is plain-spoken articles like these in mainstream media which will help it achieve even more critical mass.
Not that anyone needs to know they're using Web 2.0 applications.
Like one of the articles points out: "
Cool wears off, usefulness never does."
