Deleting contacts from MSN messenger
Susan asked the following question:
If someone has deleted you from their contact list, such that they no longer appear when you click on "view" those who had added you to their contact list, can they actually still see you if they are still on your allow list? Also, can they add you again without you knowing, or would authorisation be requested again?
This is following on a response I saw to another query where you said you can't actually delete someone from your list unless they delete you too.
So lets take the following scenario...
Susan deletes Eileen – she can't see Eileen any more on her contacts, but in Tools:Options:Privicy tab Eileen is still on her "allow list"
Eileen can still send a message to Susan as Susan did not block Eileen
Susan can right click on Eileens name (in Tools: Options: Privacy tab and add Eileen back to her active contacts. No more authorisation would be required. If Eileen also deletes Susan then neither name will appear in either "allow list" – however either person can type the contact name in again, and the name will appear again – without aurthorisation.
The only way to guarantee that another person can’t see you is to block them – they will only assume that you are not on line.
