MSN Hotmail Facts

I had a look at the recently published fact sheet on Hotmail and the new features like MSN spaces integration and the increased storage up to 250mb.    I was amazed that MSN has been running since August 1995.  It seemed like only a few years ago.  I must be getting old...

I remember beta-testing MSN back in early 1995. That was kind of fun, actually -- it had navigation built on virtual explorer-like folders.

I am still waiting for my 250mb inbox. For how long? We were promised this 6 or 9 months ago.
On the other hand, I have many many friends who are just so excited with Gmail and its 1GB storage. When they hear 1GB they think "That's amaizing"! They are waiting impatiently for it to open its doors. Many others still have begun using Yahoo Mail. I am telling people that Hotmail will upgrade its storage but for how long are we going to wait?
It seems that many Hotmail features are only US specific. Many MSN features as well. We cannot take advantage of MSN Mobile for example, as well as many other features, eg. MSN Music. They do not even appear on MSN Messenger tabs. And when Microsoft advertises some new services, we soon find out they are not available in our country. "We apologize for the inconvenience but the feature is not available in your country or region," Microsoft says.
Secondly, when are we going to get better Office Outlook integration with MSN services, like MSN Calendar, etc. And when are we going to get a simpler Hotmail interface with better search functionality like Gmail? After 3 years or what?
MSN has more and better services than Google and yet people use Google because of its simpler interface and website. MSN sites are a mess usually. And why has Microsoft called the Blogs feature integrated into MSN Messenger "View my contact card"? Who is going to understand at first glance what this means and that it really lets you create a blog? People might just skip it because they will not understand at first glance that it is a blog service, like many of my friend skip the User Profile feature of MSN Messenger.
MSN has good services. Make them more visible, more integrated with Office programs and more accessible.
