The City of Brotherly Love
Philadelphia is electric, eclectic, historic! It's a perfect place for ISTE to celebrate the 26th annual NECC and to highlight the key role of student voices in directing the future of education. ISTE can't wait to convene education professionals from all over the world in the city of brotherly love.
Home to many famous American historical landmarks (Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, nearby Valley Forge), Philadelphia also boasts the kind of cultural and entertainment events you'd expect from the nation's fifth largest city.
Temperatures in late June in Philadelphia typically range from a high of 83° F / 28° C to a low of 67° F / 19° C, with a June average rainfall of 3.7 inches and a fairly high humidity. So, light clothing is most comfortable. But keep in mind that the convention center itself is air-conditioned, so a light sweater or jacket is also a good idea. Comfortable walking shoes are a must!

Getting In, Out, and Around
You can easily navigate Philly by bus, train, subway, trolley, and cab. If you're flying in, take the SEPTA train from the airport directly to the convention center; airport taxi and shuttle info is available here.
Amtrak train-goers from outlying cities can also connect easily via 30th Street Station. And Amtrak is offering a special discount to NECC Attendees! Click here for details.
Starting Sunday, June 26, shuttles will be provided from most conference hotels to the convention center; see Hotel List for details.
See ADA Accommodations for information on motorized scooter rentals.
The Reading Terminal Market is directly beneath the convention center's grand hall and is open Monday–Saturday (8 am–6 pm) for your dining and shopping pleasure. An extensive trolley network connects many of Philly's Center City attractions and historic points of interest.
When you arrive in Philadelphia, your first stop should be the Independence Visitor Center at 6th and Market Streets. There you'll find maps, brochures, and event information, and you can pick up a copy of the Philadelphia Official Visitors Guide.
In the meantime, the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau Web Site is an excellent source for information on the city, including:
