With the goal of exciting children about science and nurturing their spirit of inquiry, each camper is challenged to take a closer look at our world and see that science is a part of everything. No matter where it fits into their future plans, the scientific discoveries that campers make at Discovery Camp will enhance their lives forever. Campers participating in the program will:

  • do workshop activities related to the session theme, Deep Sea Survivors
  • visit the exhibit halls of The Franklin Institute
  • view select theater shows in Tuttleman Imax Theater or Fels Planetarium
  • participate in interactive demonstrations by science professionals from within the museum and the surrounding community

To learn more about the Franklin Institute, visit www.fi.edu.

Campers are assigned to groups of up to 21, and The Franklin Institute will provide a staff-to-camper ratio of no less than 1-to-7.

  • Campers ages 6–13 will be accompanied by additional adult chaperones on the shuttle service to and from the convention center.
  • Campers ages 14–16 will be grouped separately and will be accompanied by all-day chaperones.

Campers with parent-granted permission may attend a field trip to the Adventure Aquarium, Wednesday, June 29. Franklin Institute staff and adult chaperones will accompany children during the field trip. Admission to Aquarium is included in the daily camp fee.

See below for a detailed Itinerary for campers ages 6–13 and ages 14–16.

Registration closes June 10, 2005. No onsite registration will be available, due to the need to plan ahead for instructors, meals, etc. Cost is $65 per child per day. Sign up via Registration. Be sure to read the Cancellation Policy.
