Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Service Pack 1: Available for Download

I've just noticed that MOM SP1 is available... Here's the info on it.....

Microsoft Operations Manager 2005 Service Pack 1 was made available for download August 1, 2005. MOM 2005 SP1 not only addresses critical customer requests, required security fixes, adds new OS and database platform support and broadens our localization support, but also includes a new feature that make license compliance much easier: License Usage Alerting . MOM 2005 SP1 can be downloaded from here

License Usage Alerting is a new feature of MOM 2005 SP1 that allows you to receive alerts when product usage exceeds a configured threshold of available OMLs. When installing SP1, customers simply enter the number of Operations Management Licenses (OML’s) they are licensed for in the License Usage Alerting dialogue box and then the MOM server periodically checks the number of managed systems against the entered number of licenses. If the number of managed systems is greater than the number of licenses then a warning alert is generated. This is a great feature and I encourage you to work with your customers to get it deployed and use this as an opportunity to have a dialogue about MOM deployment and OML compliance.
