The White House is hosting a Conference on Faith-Based and Community Initiatives in Denver, CO to be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2006. The one-day conference is geared towards those who are new to the Initiative, have no history of applying for government grants, or have attempted to secure government funding, but have not yet been successful. President George W. Bush announced on August 3 that he has named Jay Hein to be Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. Mr. Hein is the President of the Sagamore Institute for Policy Research, and also serves as Executive Vice President and CEO of the Foundation for American Renewal.
