Personnel Announcement
President George W. Bush today announced his intention to nominate one
individual to serve in his Administration:
The President intends to nominate Robert M. Kimmitt to be Deputy
Secretary of the Treasury. Ambassador Kimmitt currently serves as
Chairman of the International Advisory Council for Time Warner
Incorporated, and as Senior International Counsel at Wilmer Cutler
Pickering Hale & Dorr. He previously served as Executive Vice President
for Global Public Policy at Time Warner. Prior to joining Time Warner,
Ambassador Kimmitt was Vice Chairman and President of Commerce One.
Earlier in his career, he served as Managing Director of Lehman
Brothers and as U.S. Ambassador to Germany. Prior to these positions,
Ambassador Kimmitt served as Under Secretary of State for Political
Affairs and as General Counsel of the Department of the Treasury. He
earned his bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West
Point and his J.D. from Georgetown University.
