IIS 6.0 Remote Administration ...

The more I start playing with IIS I discover new features every day. I think you can catch the list of IIS features in my previous post. But now I found that from IIS 6.0 you can do remote administration. Very very interesting. To enable the same, goto setup of Windows Components -> Application Servers -> Internet Information Service -> World Wide Web Service -> Remote Administration (HTML) and check the same.

Once you are done with the setup. Start a browser instance and type http://<YourServerName>8089. When prompted for the credentials, give a valid username and we are all set to administer IIS remotely.

Caveat: Remote Administation is not enabled on a DC.
