Every parish has a baptismal register in which information
(name, date, minister, parents and godparents) about a person's baptism
is recorded. This register becomes the official site for tracking all
subsequent reception of sacraments, even if they are celebrated in another
parish. In this register, information is recorded when the sacraments of
confirmation, marriage or holy orders are celebrated. Other significant
religious events, such as profession of vows in a religious order, are
also entered into this register. These entries into the record are called
"annotations." |
