Berote Kalan and Khurd in Circle Bakote is a very beautiful and visible area of southwestern region of Abbottabad district.This union Council is situated on Kashmir Highway and Upper Dewal Kohalla Road on the north of Murree and Bhurban and south of renowned Kohala Bridge over River Jhelum or Kishan Ganga. Ayobia is on south west of Birote. Main tribe of Birote is Lehral of Dhond Abbasi and sub tribe is Miral, others are Murtal, Hajial, Dehreal, Kamelal and many others. Awan, Syed, Mughals, Batti Rajpoots, and a deleted working class is there. 120% population is educated from Higher secondary school Berote. There are more than 50 primary schools,2 Middle schools for boys and girls and 2 higher secondary school for both sexes. it is also most strange that there are 45 Madrissas for religious students. A post office a National Bank, Wapda office and an army camp there in service of people. Berote is only one rural union council of [NWFP] in which two weekly newspapers are publishing and gain popularity in region, on called Weekly Hill Post and other is Weekly Hill News. Hill news editor Mohammed Obaidullah Alvi[1] belonged to sub-sect of Naik Mohammedal of Awan tribe of mentioned area and also research editor of Daily Islam Karachi [2]. Other honourable persons of Berote are Haji M Abbas, Zoaq Akhter Abbasi, Nazim Afaq Abbasi, ex nazim Tahir F Abbasi,renowned historien and schollar Mohabbat Husain awa n, Haji Azim Khan, Zafir Abbasi, Raja Haiderzman Abbasi, Shahida Islam Abbasi, Zoaq Akhter Abbasi. and first lady journalist Farhat J Alvi.

Birote Khurd

The western part of Birote called Birote Khurd. It is also a much naturally beautiful area in district Abbottabad. The Maine tribe of Birote Khurd is Also Dhond Abbasi sub Lahral, Mojwal and Nikodrals. Others are Awans, Gujjars, Seyeds among them. The main places of Birote Khurd are Nakkar Kutbal, Lohwer, Mohrha, Kotli, Narhi Hoter, cholhottian, Hotrerhi, Hotrole, Bhan and Khrindi. A link road Qazi Sajawal Road from Basian (Birote), a highway called Mehtab Abbasi Road from Swargali main Abbottabad Murree Road, and a Pir Bakoti Road from Bakote linked to Birote Khurd. This area was and a transaction place for Birote Khurd people in winter 50 years ago but its tradition is not applicable for new generation. Qazi Sajawal was the second chairman of UC Birote, but he came to Karachi to meet his monetary needs. The floor water mills are also vanished, were situated in Gandran ni Dheri, lower to Qutbal after agriculture based culture over in 1970. The VIPs of Birote Khurd are Qazi Sajawal Khan, Imteaz Abbasi, Kalim Abbasi (Journalist and art director of Orient Mcann in Peshawer) Ishteaq Abbasi (Journalist now satteled in Islamabad) Gulzar Abbasi, Molvi Bashir of Bhan, Gulistan Abbasi (G Councillar) and Sarwar Abbasi (Naib Nazim)
