Vincent C. (Vinny) Smith – Chairman and CEO


Due to his drive, team spirit, enthusiasm and motivation, Vinny Smith has been dubbed the “archetypal athlete of the business game” by a leading trade magazine. As chairman and chief executive officer, Smith leads one of the premier application management companies in the software industry. When he joined Quest as an investor and director in 1995, the company had 25 employees and $4 million in revenue. Today Quest has more than 2,700 employees in offices around the world and $476 million in sales.

Prior to joining Quest Software, Smith co-founded Patrol Software. He personally financed the company and ran North American operations, which included worldwide sales and marketing. After BMC Software acquired Patrol Software in 1994, Smith worked with BMC for one year to assist with the transition from a mainframe-oriented company to an open systems solution provider.

Before Patrol Software, Smith rose through the ranks at Oracle Corporation for five years in a variety of sales and marketing positions. While at Oracle, Smith worked under Tom Siebel, where he managed over 60 sales representatives and the accompanying technical and operations staff required for the success of the division. In 1986, he graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in computer science and minor in economics.

Douglas F. Garn – President

As president, Doug Garn is responsible for driving the day-to-day product and sales operational areas, including directing the operations and strategies of the worldwide sales, marketing and product teams. Garn was previously Quest's vice president of worldwide sales, responsible for driving Quest Software's worldwide sales operations and strategies, and has been a primary contributor to the company's double-digit growth. He joined Quest in 1998 from Peregrine Systems, Inc. where he was vice president of North American Sales.

Prior to joining Peregrine Systems in 1996, Garn was vice president of sales for Syntax, Inc., a networking software company. Garn also served as a regional sales manager for BMC from 1993 to 1995. He holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from University of Southern California.

Michael J. Lambert - Chief Financial Officer

As chief financial officer (CFO) Michael Lambert is responsible for Quest's global financial and treasury strategy and day-to-day financial and accounting operations. Michael also has responsibility for Quest's worldwide Information Systems (IS) operations.

He is an experienced high technology veteran who has led numerous financial organizations through significant change and growth. For the three years prior to joining Quest, Lambert served as executive vice president and CFO for Quantum Corporation (NYSE: DSS), a publicly held provider of tape drives and storage solutions. Prior to Quantum, he was the senior vice president and CFO for NerveWire, a systems integration consulting firm.

Lambert also held the position of vice president and CFO for the InterNetworking Systems Division at Lucent Technologies and several financial management positions at IBM in the Storage Systems Division. Lambert holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Stonehill College.

Brinkley Morse – Senior Vice President, Business Development

Brinkley Morse is senior vice president, business development with responsibility for Quest's investment and acquisition strategy. Prior to assuming his current role in 2005, Morse also served as Quest's CFO from January 2001 to April 2005.

From October 1988 to August 2000, Morse was a senior executive at BMC Software, Inc. and a member of BMC's executive committee. From 1988 to 1998, Morse was BMC's senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Subsequently, from 1998 to 2000 he was BMC's senior vice president, corporate development with responsibility for mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, strategic alliances and strategic planning.

Prior to joining BMC, Morse practiced corporate finance and securities law at Vinson & Elkins, Houston, Texas. Morse received his bachelor's in business administration from University of Texas and his LLB from Tulane University, where he was editor-in-chief of the Tulane Law Review.

Anthony Foley - Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales

Anthony Foley is Quest Software's vice president of worldwide sales. He was previously vice president of sales for Quest's Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region beginning in 2000. Prior to joining Quest Software, Foley held a variety of European management positions with Computer Associates. Earlier, he served as business development director with GE Capital's European subsidiary, during which he attended GE's prestigious Center of Excellence in Crotenville, NY. Between 1990 and 1994, Foley was the commercial director for the IT leasing subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank. He is a graduate in economics and political science from the University of Sheffield, England.

Paul Garver - Vice President, Public Sector

Paul Garver is responsible for Quest Software's public sector division, covering the U.S. federal government, state and local governments, and higher education in all 50 states. In this role, he also oversees business and channel development, product and marketing functions, and systems consulting. Prior to joining Quest, Garver held a number of positions in sales and marketing focused on the government marketplace, with companies including Information Builders, Attachmate Corporation and IBM. Garver is an active member of a number of industry and government professional IT associations including GITEC, USO, AFCEA and ITAA. Garver was named one of Federal Computer Week's Federal 100 in 2005 and is also the recipient of IPIC's 2001, 2002 and 2005 President's Award for Superior Support and Contribution. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Maryland.

Aggie Haslup - Vice President, Worldwide Marketing

Aggie Haslup is Quest Software's vice president of worldwide marketing, responsible for leading all marketing efforts across the company. Haslup joined Quest through the acquisition of Aelita Software, where she held the position of vice president of marketing. In that role, she implemented product management methodologies in alignment with the sales and development organizations, established the corporate messaging platform, and led a major product positioning and re-branding initiative. Prior to joining Aelita, Haslup was vice president of corporate marketing for Frontstep, Inc., an ERP software company formerly known as Symix. While there, she held management-level positions in business development, product management and industry partnership development. With over 25 years of experience in technology and marketing, Haslup has contributed her business expertise to companies including ABB, Legent Corporation and Goal Systems. She holds an MBA and a bachelor's degree in math.

Kim Kinnison - Vice President, Global Support

As Quest Software's vice president of global support, Kim Kinnison is responsible for all aspects of support worldwide. Prior to assuming this role in 1999, Kinnison was the director and manager of technical support. From 2001 to 2004, she took on the additional role of vice president of human resources with responsibility for the company's personnel and staffing infrastructures, and also served as vice president of Information Services from 1999 to 2001. Kinnison joined Quest in 1991 as a technical support engineer and prior to Quest held positions as a systems programmer at Hughes Aircraft and instructor/consultant at Hewlett Packard. She has a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Bill Stow - Vice President, Research and Development

As Quest Software's vice president of research and development, Bill Stow oversees product development worldwide across the application, database and Windows management groups. Prior to joining Quest in 2005, Stow was a co-founder of Starbase, a development tools company, where from 1992 to 2002 he held several roles including Chairman and CEO, but was primarily responsible for leading the R&D organization. Over the course of his 30 years experience in the software industry, Stow has held management and consulting roles in companies large and small, in both the private sector and in government, specializing in driving innovation within large and geographically-dispersed development teams. He has a bachelor of science degree from Oregon State University, majoring in human factors.
